Daves Brushes One are divided in 3 categories, to better explain how they should be used.
- Painting brushes. These are the big ones, its what I use 90 percent of the times. Sometimes playing with the wet edges option might make things better, depending on the situation.
- Splashy brush, use this for merging and texturing at the same time for clouds

Selecting a Brush
1. Open Photoshop and create a new document or open an existing one.
2. Select the Brush Tool from the toolbar (shortcut: `B`).
3. Click on the brush icon in the options bar to open the Brush Preset Picker.
4. Choose a brush from the available presets.
Adjusting Brush Size
- Change the brush size using one of the following methods:
- Press the square bracket keys: `[` to decrease size and `]` to increase size.
- Right-click on the canvas and adjust the size slider.
- Use the "Size" slider in the options bar.
Changing Brush Hardness
- Brush Hardness determines the softness or sharpness of the brush edges.
- Adjust the "Hardness" slider in the options bar.
- A lower hardness value creates a softer edge, while a higher value produces a harder edge.
Brush Settings
Opacity and Flow
- Opacity controls the transparency of the brush. Lower opacity results in more transparent strokes.
- Flow determines the rate at which paint is applied. A lower flow requires multiple strokes to build up color.
Blending Modes
- Set brushes to different blending modes to control how colors interact with existing layers.
- Access blending mode options from the options bar.
Brush Presets
- The Brush Preset Picker allows you to choose predefined brushes or create your own.
- Click the gear icon in the picker to access additional settings.
Advanced Brush Settings
1. Shape Dynamics: Adjusts dynamic changes in brush size, angle, and roundness. Enable or disable it and fine-tune sliders for customization.
2. Scattering: Scatters brush marks along the stroke. Use the scatter slider to control the effect.
3. Texture: Adds texture to brush strokes. Choose from existing textures or load custom ones.
4. Dual Brush: Combines two brushes for complex effects. Select a second brush and modify its settings.
5. Color Dynamics: Introduces color variation to strokes. Adjust foreground and background color jitter and other parameters.
6. Transfer: Controls how brush attributes respond to pen pressure or stylus sensitivity, including opacity and flow.
